For over five decades, Polk County Rescue Squad has been the first line of emergency medical care for residents of Columbus, North Carolina, and the surrounding communities. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers has grown into a well-equipped, professionally trained team — but our heart remains the same: this is our community, and we look out for each other.

Every member of our squad gives their time freely. We are firefighters, teachers, tradespeople, and neighbors — united by a shared commitment to show up when it matters most. From cardiac emergencies to vehicle accidents, from natural disasters to medical transports, we are prepared to respond.
